A Long Layover in Prague

Lucy is some kind of genius when it comes to flight planning – particularly at creating bonus vacations through layovers. Such is how we found ourselves in Prague, after a $25 flight from Amman on Ryan Air.

There’s not a ton to say about it, honestly… I don’t mean to say there’s not a lot of say about Prague, what a lovely city! Our visit consisted of a long passport line, a ride to a very nice hostel, a long day of walking, drinking beer and eating rich foods, a few belly aches, many, many smiles, a short night’s rest, and an Uber to the airport the next morning.

We did splurge for the KGB museum – a singularly weird scenario. Over the course of about a half hour, a former KGB operative excitedly shows off his spy gadgets and unique deadly weapons to a small audience. Each weapon, it seemed, was accompanied by a dramatic enactment of how it’s used – he takes a deep breath, his eyes flutter and roll back behind his eyelids, his slow motions stall, and with a sudden loud vocalization, he plunges the knife(or whatever) into a dummy wearing a hazmat suit. Then, acting as the victim, he gasps, clutching his wound, reaches out as a final plea for help, and crumples into his final demise. Best 14 bucks we ever spent.
